BIMA Digital Day

Published on December 9, 2022 by Climbing Trees

Technology is all around us. It has led to a complete paradigm shift that has transformed the way we live, connect and progress into the future. It has even opened new possibilities and career choices that were previously unthinkable, or perhaps unimaginable. But with new opportunities comes its own set of challenges. Although the digital landscape is growing twice the rate every year, there is a shortage of digital talent. There is also a lack of digital exposure, especially for young people who are yet to discover their true potential.

“It was an amazing Digital Day experience, where bright young minds tackled the digital world.”

“It was an amazing Digital Day experience, where bright young minds tackled the digital world. Seeing how they worked collectively in groups to solve problems and pitched their ideas confidentially was outstanding. The up-and-coming generation is digitally savvy in their approach and thinking.”

Last week our MD Alex along with Relationships Manager Frankie and Account Manager AJ, participated in the BIMA Digital Day. BIMA Digital Day is the only initiative of its kind that provides 11-16 year olds an insight into the world of digital careers, giving students an opportunity to take part in a series of themed challenges, finding digital solutions for real-life issues or examples, ranging from reducing our environmental impact on the planet to improving people’s lives through digital means. It also creates a safe learning environment for young people to gain digital skills, as well as opening new career possibilities that will eventually shape the future of the current Digital age.

“…it was such an incredible experience…”

Frankie Brookton, Relationship Manager, Climbing Trees

“Having taken part in the BIMA Digital Day for the first time, it was such an incredible experience, and I really hope the pupils who took part enjoyed their day learning the ins and outs of the digital industry and having the chance to work on a real life digital marketing scenario. I really enjoyed seeing their excitement in brainstorming and bringing their ideas to life. Very much looking forward to taking part in the future.”

The team worked with a group of year 8’s from Manningtree High School, working on an actual digital marketing scenario. The day was a complete success for both students and the presenters, the excitement and natural talent shown by the students was fantastic and encouraging to see. It is safe to say all are looking forward to the next BIMA event in the near future.

“To bring to life what the digital industry has to offer…was a fantastic experience.”

Alex Holliman, Founder and Managing Director, Climbing Trees.

“To bring to life what the digital industry has to offer, to a group of bright young minds not yet tainted by the real world, was a fantastic experience. To see their creative ingenuity and ability to tackle problems in a unique way whilst enjoying themselves and having a lot of fun was a really great thing to experience and something we hope to build on in 2023, with a bigger event partnering with an amazing team at Manningtree High School. ”
